Bella Box April 2014 - Reviews

1.  Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm  -  Cult
I really loved the smell of this and if you like peppermint then you will too!  This lip balm made my lips tingle like nothing out just like it says it will.  My lips definitely feel softer but the balm doesn't seem to "fix" my already chapped lips.  I think I will stick to my Lucas Papaw Ointment but will  keep this one in my handbag.

2.  St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Face Lotion  -  Cult
As stated in my March review I don't fake tan.  I have finally embraced my inner-pale-girl and don't like the "I dipped myself in a bowl of Doritos" look.  However my husband told me to just give it a go and so I did.  I rubbed in the fake tan like I would face moisturiser (all over my face and neck) and then scrubbed my hands.  This fake tan is instant and so, as the name suggests, I instantly saw the result which made it really easy to build it up the tone I wanted.  This tan was very natural and though I probably won't repurchase I will definitely finish off the tube.

Swatches:  Indio Eye Rise, St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Face Lotion

3.  Indio Eye Rise  -  Luxe
I really liked this product!  You just dab a small bit beneath each eye and pat it in with your ring finger.  Something so simple, yet it gives instant results.  My under-eye circles grow lighter and my eyes appear brighter.  I have also used this when my eyes have been puffy and this cream has reduced that too!  I love this cream... I wish it wasn't so expensive though :(

4.  Avon Mega Effects Mascara  -  Colour
I'm not going to lie - this mascara looks scary!  But I really enjoyed it.  It takes a bit of practise getting the correct angle but once you get it right it creates lovely long, thick lashes.  I use this mascara on both my top and bottom lashes and it creates an amazing, dramatic effect.  I am so glad I got to try this mascara as I probably wouldn't have been brave enough with Bella Box!

5.  Vaseline Ultimate 10 Anti-Ageing Body Lotion  -  Essential
Vaseline lotions are good.  They make you feel nice and soft however I'm not sure whether I've noticed any "anti-ageing" properties.  I use this on my hands at night and I really enjoy it though I'm not sure that I would ever repurchase it.

BONUS  Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup
I was not impressed with this "bonus sample".  I didn't really see the point of it as the colours were really random and wouldn't suit everyone so basically it was something most people would throw away.  I found the lightest shade did suit me but there wasn't enough to test the foundation out??

Overall this was my favourite Bella Box so far!  I will use all but one of the items but luckily this item is the bonus one and so worth the least!

So far we have seen this sneak peak of the upcoming May 2014 Box and I've gotta say I cannot wait!!

What did you guys think of April's Bella Box?  Did you get any different products or have you got any tips on using the products better?  Let me know!

Quick & Easy Moisturisers (Time Saving)

Recently I have tried two different types of moisturisers that are both marketed as time saving and effective.  I thought I would do two reviews in one and let you know which I preferred and which I would buy next.

We'll start with...

Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser - Dry Skin Repair

Intensive Care Dry Skin Spray & Go Moisturiser

I got this product in a prize from Coles and I am so happy that I did!  It retails at $9.99 (AU) and comes in a 190g spray bottle.  You can get two other varieties however I have only tried the dry skin variety.  This product smells like melons and just makes you feel so fresh.  You literally just hold the bottle about 30cms from your body and spray everywhere lightly.  Then quickly rub it in and you're good to go!  I have noticed difference in my skin since using especially on my dry areas (elbows, legs).  I love the smell (trust me, it's amazing!) and it's also great how you can lock the lid so no product comes out while you are travelling.

The second product I tried was the...

Nivea's In Shower Rich Body Lotion Skin Conditioner - Very Dry Skin

In shower_Skin_Conditioner_Dry Skin

I originally got a sachet sample of this and really liked it and wanted to try it again so purchased the full size.  This one retails for $7.99 (AU) and comes in a 400ml squeezy bottle so is cheaper.  The concept behind this moisturiser is that you wash yourself in the shower then apply this all over and then wash it off.  This is meant to save you the time of having the dry and then apply moisturiser.  Now when I originally tried this moisturiser I really enjoyed but now not so much.  It's so strange as I usually love Nivea products but this one was a bit of a miss for me.  I have quite dry skin and this one made me feel a bit greasy.  I don't like the way you have to squeeze the tube to get it out because I am (extremely) weak and struggle with it every time.  I will finish this body lotion however won't repurchase it.

The Verdict:

Overall I would say that I definitely repurchase the Vaseline Spray On over the Nivea In Shower moisturiser.  With the first I saw results straight away whereas the latter hasn't really done anything.  I was actually rooting for the Nivea one because I love the brand (and it's cheaper lol).  But Vaseline won it for me this time.

Let me know if you've tried any time saving moisturisers either that I've listed here or if you have any others for me to try/review!

Bella Box April 2014 - What I got

My April Bella Box came over a week ago but because of the Easter long weekend I haven't gotten around to showing you what was in it yet.  Because it's been a while since I received it I have been able to use some of the products and so the review part of this box shouldn't be so long a wait!  Every month there is a theme for the box and this month's was Autumn Winter Style which is pretty self explanatory.  We are now well into Autumn and the box would have things that would help us prepare for the colder months.  Each box contains at least 5 deluxe samples and it costs $15.00 per month.

Each month there is a sneak peak and this month we saw that each member would getting something from Burt's Bees and the second sneak peak showed a coloured makeup item.  The sneak peaks were very exciting indeed and I couldn't wait to open my tiffany blue Bella Box and start using my goodies!

So here is what I got...

1.  Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm  -  Cult
Cost: RRP per 8.5g is $7.95.  Full Size Sample!

2.  St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Face Lotion  -  Cult
Cost: RRP per 50ml is $49.95.  I got a 5ml sample which is worth $5.00

3.  Indio Eye Rise  -  Luxe

4.  Avon Mega Effects Mascara  -  Colour

5.  Vaseline Ultimate 10 Anti-Ageing Body Lotion  -  Essential

And that was the content of my April 2014 Bella Box!

Total Box Value = $57.02

April's Bella Box has been my favourite so far with TWO (you heard that right!) full size products!  This box is the most well suited to me so far and also worth the most moolah $$!  I'm really looking forward to reviewing these products for you in greater depth and hopefully will have that up for you after the long weekend! Woop Woop I love long weekends :)

What did you get in your Bella Box?  I'd love to hear your reviews on your box and whether you think it's worth the money you pay!
